Congratulations to three Maryland Out of School Time Network VISTAs for completing a year of service! Stephanie Alphee, STEM VISTA at University of Maryland Extension 4-H Western Maryland and Carrie Finkelstein, Communications and Engagement Specialist at the Campaign for Grade Level Reading both close their service at the end of February, and Alison Howland is continuing her second year as the Hunger Strategies VISTA at the Partnership to End Childhood Hunger.

America After 3 Report Details Maryland's Afterschool Participation and Support
On Thursday, October 16th, the Afterschool Alliance published statewide data for the 2014 America After 3 survey. This report is released every five years, and provides data on afterschool participation, demand for afterschool programs, and parental satisfaction and support of afterschool programs. Responses for the America After 3 report are collected through household surveys and in-depth interviews.
Getting Funding Back for Maryland’s Out of School Time Programs - Expanding Opportunities, Improving Lives: A Reception on the Importance of Afterschool and Summer Learning
"When you invest in kids, you are benefitting the state and the community" - Ellie Mitchell The Maryland Out of School Time (MOST) Network hosted a reception and presentation on Thursday, October 9th from 4:30 to 6:30pm at the Maryland State Education Association to celebrate the release of two important documents: The Maryland Afterschool and Summer Opportunity Fund (MASOF) Comprehensive Plan & Recommendations, and Expanding Opportunities, Improving Lives – Afterschool’s Return on Investment for Maryland. Invited to the reception were members of the MASOF Advisory Board, afterschool and summer learning advocates, and policy makers.
